RECRUITMENT
The aim of With the Jocks is to gather any re-enactors who would like to portray Scottish infantry soldiers (Jocks) from any period of the second world war. I portray a private from the 4th Btn Kings Own Scottish Borderers, in memory of my Grandfather, and the 1st Btn the Black Watch, North Africa campain.
Anybody is welcome to join With the Jocks, even if you are already
re-enacting and fancy a change or doing a second string or simply keen to start in the hobby.
I often attend events alongside FIRE1944, who portray 15th Scottish and 51st Highland Divisions, the Lovat Scouts and others. They welcome anyone who is interested in the hobby and the link to their website is below. It is packed full of all the information you will need to get started and is well worth a visit even for those who simply have an interest in this period of our history.
We think it is important that the Jocks and Tommy's, who bore the brunt of the fighting throughout World War Two, are properly and accurately represented, so although it's a great hobby and fun to do, there is a serious side to it. We are representing a generation that will never be seen again, who gave their youth, and many their lives, for our freedom.
.
If you are interested please let us know. There's a contact us page on both With the Jocks and FIRE1944.
We look forward to welcoming you.
